Zap-Debt.com is to be our money maker (hopefully). People can apply for loans, mortgages, credit cards, and insurance. The site generates leads for existing online brokers and pays a commission for each lead we generate. It is an experiment in Search Engine Optimization in a very competitive market. HomeMovieRental.net is our online DVD rental promotion site. We watch a lot of movies and we recently started renting our movies online. We liked the service so much we started a site to promote it for the prominent movie rental companies. Plus Game rentals and Music Downloads.

TheMarketTimers.com. Well that's this site. We have been delving into the markets for a few years now. After one and a half years of study and paper trading (i.e. on paper, no real money) we finally had the confidence to take the plunge into trading with real money. The first year was hit and miss and a real learning process in regards to the emotional aspects of trading. The second year saw a remarkable improvement with a 150% plus profit followed by a terrible disaster. A 75% loss. Ouch. Beware of overconfidence after a string of successes. We learned this the hard way. But it is an important lesson to learn.

Trading stocks is a psychological minefield. The human nature of fear and greed are the engine that drives the markets. Market timing is the study of that behavior on a mass level to determine how the masses of people are feeling. Are they greedy (markets heading up) or are they falling into the grips of fear (markets going down). The trader has to be able to read this without getting sucked into it. It is difficult not to get sucked in. And it is difficult to understand what it means to get sucked in if you haven't ever done so.

We recommend you learn this lesson, and learn it early before the losses are significant. Its changed the way we manage our trading accounts and the results make us smile.

So we put this site together to help others on the journey to profiting in the stock markets. After only a few months of study we realized that the mainstream views of the markets are greatly flawed. Buy and Hold is very dangerous. Efficient Market Hypothesis and Random Walk Theory are bogus. Following the news reports on the markets or individual stocks is also fraught with problems. And the methods of fundamental analysis can't be trusted.

But good market timing allows a trader to ignore all these distractions and focus on the directions of the markets as they move.
